The vibe was industrial and casual, and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. This is clearly one of the newest breweries on Oahu and they’re doing great work. I thoroughly enjoyed the sours at this spot, but the IPAs weren’t memorable. I think it’s worth popping in if you’re in the area. After a process of experimentation, and a trip to Germany to see the technologies in action, the brewers at Adnams settled on a membrane filtration method to make their famous low-ABV brew, Ghost Ship 0.5. All of these technical and scientific processes can change the taste and texture of an alcohol free beer. At this point on our journey to find the best beer on Oahu, we were somewhat disheartened because most of the brews have been too light for our liking — thankfully Broken Boundary Brewing shifted the tide. It is not intended to be a promotion of any individual We’re greeted with crisp lime when we taste, but it’s neither bitter nor sharp, just unmistakably juicy citrus. It isn’t too bold, and we get a perfectly pleasant biscuity lager malt base, with almost floral honey or golden syrup sweetness. The carbonation level is good but the beer does suffer from a slight wateriness. That being said though the drink is very refreshing, and we get a short mild citrus finish to the beer.
