About this deal
Card Values: Each number card is worth its face value, Jacks are 11 points, Queens are 12, Kings are 13, Jokers are 50, and the current wild card is 20 points. Our mission is to produce engaging articles like reviews, tips and tricks, game rules, strategies, etc. Eventually, I hope to expand the site to include other people writing about their interets (but also concentrating on games, hobbies, and sports). The player to the dealer’s left goes first; before attempting to make runs/books take either a card from the draw pile or the top card from the discard pile. As an incentive to “keep score,” I suggest counting all the points against you in your discard pile.
While wilds, five suits, and two decks make it less likely that you’ll end up with a group of two that can’t be completed, the odds may be lower. Each number card is worth its face value, the Jacks are 11 points, Queens are 12, Kings are 13, Jokers are 50, and the wild card is 20 points. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve connected cards quickly with a wild card in a run, and it helped me go out or lower my score to almost nothing.
A player can only lay down his/her books and/or runs when going out or, in turn, after another player has gone out. An example would be to hold onto the 5 and Jack of spades if you already have a 7-8-9 of spades run. Start your turn as normal, then lay down your entire hand in books and/or runs on the table in front of you before discarding your last card.

A lot of good players will use the same cards to go for multiple books at a time and open up the odds of getting a card that works for them. Five Crowns is a very unusual card game in many respects, and it uses five decks instead of the standard four. Once scores are tallied, the next hand begins with the player on the left (clockwise) becoming the dealer.
