Head Start– In Race Across the World, the teams wait at each checkpoint until every team has arrived.

As a US contributor to Digital Spy, Justin has also been on the ground to cover major pop culture events like the Star Wars Celebration and the D23 Expo. Like anything in life, Race Across the World has positives and negatives, but as long as you understand where this game is being pitched, it’s a great investment for casual game nights. The final section of the race saw the competing pairs complete the final 4,800km stage which took them to the finish in Ushuaia, Argentina - the world’s most southerly city. This year's series begins in northwest Africa and stops in 24 countries, including Mediterranean beaches, the Baltic States and snow-covered Scandinavia along the way.The game is well-balanced and realistic when it comes to travelling – walking is free, but take a look at your dice and you’ll see this is not your regular D6.

This works especially well in tandem with the Head Start rule and keeps the momentum up in the middle of the game. Justin has been with Digital Spy since 2010, and in that time, has covered countless major news events for DS from the US. In each episode, the celebrities and their partners will be challenged to get from one place to another without taking a flight. It’s not a heavily complex game, and there is a fair amount of chance – you can’t select the jobs you get or the accommodation you stay in, and therefore the budgeting part of the game is partially down to luck of the draw. If you’re looking for deep mechanics and complex tactics, this isn’t the game for that; but as an easy-thinker on a Sunday afternoon, or a chill game with a range of ages, this is ideal.

The game is very easy to set up, the rules are easy to understand, and the gameplay is lots of fun using various methods of travel (boat, bus, train or walking). Overall, Race Across the World is accessible, light-hearted fun with just enough strategy to make it interesting. We have never heard of the globe-trotting adventure TV game show Race Across the World before or the board game of the same name.

It’s quick to learn, accessible for all ages and has plenty of amusing scenarios on the chance cards to keep the family entertained. Popstar Blatt said that participating in Race Across the World was the ultimate opportunity to get outside her "comfort zone". Contents: 1 x Double-sided gameboard, 1 x pack of money, 4 x 6-sided dice, 62 x chance cards, 6 x playing pawns, and instructions.
