I thought for sure this character would become relevant and we’d learn why she was named after the famous classic Hollywood actress, but nooooooo. She didn’t make a single appearance. Not even sure if Ivy mentioned her. WHAT WAS THE POINT?

Ivy wants to fall in love, but doubts that her duties will let her. Will the past influence her present? With secrets between Ren and Ivy, she worries as they grow closer that she may have more to suspect about him than she thinks. Now her heart is starting to become more than just her own. I could see where this book was going. Jen probably wanted to focus on building Ivy and Ren's relationship and that in of itself took up nearly half the book! Good character development all around but it kind of lagged after while...

Never did I expect that this trilogy would captivate me so much! After the first book I already saw the potential but the action within the story was missing a bit. But the second and third book just blew my mind! While reading I have always tried to ignore the fact that this is the last book. Yes, there are still little novellas about side characters but since I'm generally not a fan of the concept of a novella, I probably won't read them.Someone get the editor on the phone. I have several questions for them, starting with David/Daniel and ending with why Brighton was in her 20s in book 1, but suddenly in her 30s in books 2 and 3. Which reminds me... So, I'm a bit torn over this book (pun intended) because although I did enjoy it (it's JLA, so come on like) and there were loads of things I loved about it (Ren and Tink anyone?) there were a few niggly issues which stopped me engaging in my usual gush-fest; things that prevented me from rating this a five-star read. Relectura! La verdad es que me cuesta despedirme de esta saga y de sus increíbles personajes. Al menos, ahora que me regalaron este, puedo releer mis partes favoritas cuando quiera. Violent rage and bitter fear swirled like a storm inside me, feeding strength I didn’t realise I had.’

I don’t know if this is me realizing how similar all her books are and how unable I was to set apart her narratives. Like, Ivy’s voice is so similar to Kat’s from her Lux series and to Alex’s from her Covenant series; and that’s a problem –I don’t know if it’s because that’s the way she writes her paranormal/fantasy stuff but it bothered me this time. Main character Ivy Morgan is just 22 years of age. She attends college, but while she enjoys excelling in classes, she also is not a student just like everybody else. She knows that the French Quarter may be where a lot of tourists and locals go for fun and like to hang out, but it also is filled with tons of trouble. There also may be more than just humans that are trolling this area– for fun and also for food. Also, the actor playing Tink could dial it down a notch or twelve. His cutesy comments and delivery gets old. Yes, I know someone must have listened to the audiobook when studying how to play him...but what translates decently in written word, doesn't translate well into a real life character. He's just "Ivy Divy" irritating. This whole entire time I’d been petrified that he’d die on me like everyone else had. Never once had it crossed my mind that I’d lose him because I would have to walk away.’ From the woes of a disgraceful friendship to the loyalties of a true one, Ivy is put through the ringer of ever-changing, and sharp-hitting emotion. She is a hardwired tangle of fragile and compulsive feelings, compounded by internal conflict and grabbed by the reins of overriding sentiments. Still recovering from a near death experience, and coping with the cutting infidelity of her best friend, hunting, and running, Ivy’s life only manifests further impediment with impossible secrets, disturbing tension, and hidden histories. While I appreciate Passionflix attempting this series, they really need to up their game when turning books into movies. The acting is less than middle of the road, chemistry is non-existent, and costuming is... seriously, who does the wigs (they're horrible!) There is a lot going on here and there are a lot of different characters that even nearly three hours of film time couldn't quite give me a lowdown on all of them but I got the gist of things in what is a world of fantasy, betrayal and deceit. A fantastic fae-centered urban fantasy that brought the struggle, action and dramatic love to a convincing close. Miss. Armentrout has my glazed attention and i won't stop the hunt until she pops out another fae gem.

I have never been more afraid than I was right then and there. I was going to lose you before I even got to have you.”The special effects with the feys eyes is pretty decent, but this stupid blue streaky thing they do on the skin is just weird. Their skin is supposed to be silvery, this is not silvery...or shimmery, it's just something similar to a blueish tone that one might see in a morgue. It took me forever and a hot day to get started on Brave because the end of trilogy always induces INSANE amounts of anxiety in my body. There was most definitely some bad but mostly good moments that makes JLA's writing bomb.
